Self-ligating Braces
DAMON self-ligating brackets are a passive self-ligating fixed orthodontic system. Unlike metal brackets, they do not use rubber bands to attach the brackets to the archwire. This results in reduced treatment time, avoidance of some tooth extractions and less frequent check-ups.
Braces without ligatures have certain differences compared to traditional braces. They do not need to be tightened, and are therefore gentle on teeth and tissues.
They use archwire technology that moves teeth faster and requires fewer adjustments.
The Damon system uses a passive cap mechanism that keeps the archwire inside the bracket, while allowing it to move freely.
The rubber bands are replaced by a clip-shaped piece in the centre of the bracket, so that the archwire is held in place by the bracket.
